Description
Extra Vahva Rauta 100 mg is a strong iron supplement for the increased need of iron. High iron content and vitamin C, which enhances the absorption of iron, effectively increase the body’s iron intake. Extra Vahva Rauta 100 mg contains ferrous bisglycinate, which is a well absorbable iron compund with a good bioavailability. Ferrous bisglycinate doesn’t irritate the stomach and is therefore better tolerated than other iron compounds. Extra Vahva Rauta 100 mg is a slow-releasing tablet releasing iron in the intestines for about six hours.
The body needs iron to form red blood cells and hemoglobin. In addition, some of the iron in the body is bound to ferritin, a storage protein of iron. Tiredness and fatigue, shortness of breath, fast heart beat and pale face may be signs of low blood hemoglobin and diminished iron storages in the body. In women, menstruation and pregnancy increase the body’s iron requirement and consume the iron storages. Also malabsorption increases the body’s need for iron. If the intake from food is insufficient, hemoglobin remains low and iron supplement may be needed.
Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, as well as the transport of oxygen in the body. It also helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Dosage
For adults, 1 tablet a day is swallowed with water. The tablet is taken on an empty stomach or with a meal. When taken with a meal, avoid coffee, tea, milk and whole grain because they affect the absorption of iron.
