BOULARDII contains yeast Saccharomyces boulardii originated from fruit skin of litchi and mangosteen. Today Boulardii is found in health supplements for gut health, and sold in over 100 countries world wide. When taken as capsules Boulardii is quickly growing in the intestines but is not colonized in the gut like lactic acid bacteria do. Boulardii is eliminated from the gut in a few days when capsule take is finished.
Saccharomyces boulardii is naturally resistant to antibiotics because antibiotics affect bacteria but not yeast.
